Artwork by Katie Ann Edgeworth (’20) will hang in the U.S. Capitol Building
Each year, a nationwide high school visual art competition is hosted by the Congressional Institute to recognize artistic talent. Students must first submit entries to their representative’s office to be judged by panels of district artists. The winners are then recognized in their district and at a national awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. Not only are finalists flown to the reception, but they each receive a scholarship as well. Katie Ann Edgeworth (’20) was chosen from the 7th Congressional District for her piece, “Product of the Bees.” Edgeworth’s piece will hang in the U.S. Capitol building for one year.
