Brentwood Academy’s upper school serves students in grades 9 through 12, focusing all aspects of school life on fulfilling the school’s mission to nurture and challenge each whole person—body, mind and spirit—to the glory of God.
Academic Life
The upper school academic day operates on a modified block schedule. Most classes in this program are 90 minutes long and meet every other day throughout the school year. Students are expected to take six classes each semester. Semesters are divided into two grading periods (quarters) and include midterm and final exams. Students participate in elective courses and core academics.
Courses offered include: English, history, science, mathematics, world languages (French, Latin, and Spanish), arts, speech, drama, instrumental band, vocal music, journalism (yearbook), computer and Bible.
