The upper school fall play is presented in the fall of each year, with rehearsals three nights a week from 5:30 – 7:30 PM. The fall play is a straight show (no music) and is generally a small to medium-sized cast. The show can be a serious drama like The Diary of Anne Frank or The Miracle Worker, or a light comedy such as The Man Who Came to Dinner. Auditions are held in early fall.
The middle school play is presented in the winter, with rehearsals three days a week from 3:15 – 5:15 PM. The middle school play supports a large cast and is typically based on literary classics like Tom Sawyer, Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland. Auditions are held in the falll.
The upper school spring musical is presented in April of each year, with rehearsals three nights a week from 5:30 – 7:30 PM. The musical supports a large cast and crew, and Brentwood Academy is known for producing audience favorites such as Beauty and the Beast, Oklahoma!, Oliver!, and Guys and Dolls. Auditions are held in December.
Students also serve on technical and stage crews for each show, and upper school students may enroll in Set Design or Theatre Arts classes which construct the sets and props for each production.
