The girls cross country team started the season on Saturday. The varsity girls placed 2nd among the AA division and placed 9th out of 33 teams in all divisions. The varsity was led by freshman Annabelle Chapman who also medalled since she was in the top 50 among a strong field of girls. The junior varsity placed 2nd as a team in the JV-AA division and 4th out of the 10 total teams in all divisions. The junior varsity was led by freshman Christina Bell. It was a great start to the season for our young group of girls!

This meet was smaller but competitive, with 4 other schools competing (Baylor, Chattanooga Christian, Webb, and St. Cecilia). Both Varsity and JV teams raced together and placed 2nd. Sophomore Emerson Simpson led the Eagles with a time of 21:21 and finished 8th among some big names. Overall, the girls ran excellent races with season bests and several personal records. Go Eagles!

We had some great breakthrough races at a very competitive Saturday Light Fever Meet. We had 8 girls improve their times from the previous race and/or season. JV girls placed 7th out of the 12 teams and varsity girls placed 13th out of the 19 teams. Emerson Simpson and Anna Belle Chapman were our varsity leaders and placed 53rd and 56th among several state champions in the Gold Race.

The varsity girls had great races at the Scottsboro Last Chance Meet. Four girls ran personal records (Christina Bell, Nina-Lily Veale, Ellie Atchley, Annabelle Chapman). The Lady Eagles were led by Annabelle Chapman who placed 10th (20:45.13). The girls are looking strong for the State meet in two weeks!
