Christian Life
Growth Begins by Knowing Truth
Brentwood Academy believes that true intellectual growth begins with knowing Truth and that spiritual growth is fundamental to the broader development of each member of the BA family.
In addition to the programs and classes available, spiritual life at Brentwood Academy involves the classroom, the playing field, the band room, and the hallways. We believe that everything is spiritual, and that Jesus Christ gives everything purpose. Every faculty and staff member has a personal, and growing relationship with Christ. While the religious beliefs of each individual student will be respected, the school will continuously teach Biblical truths and values.

Freddie Scott
“It’s an honor to serve as your Director of Christian Life. Here at BA, we are committed to seeing your children grow in their spiritual maturity by experiencing and expressing God’s unconditional love.
Our approach is simple. We want to make Jesus relevant in the lives of our students - to answer their questions and address the common problems that students face daily in an effort to make the Bible both integral and applicable.
Our vision is to allow every student to know the depth of God’s love for them, and to develop a biblical worldview that empowers them to engage and transform the world around them to the glory of God.
Thank you for allowing us to partner with you in cultivating the next generation to make Jesus known through His people.”

“My hope and prayer is for every Brentwood Academy Middle School student to know God’s Heart and His Word. During the course of the school year students will grow in a more vibrant understanding of who God is and what He is calling them to do. We accomplish this through daily diving into Scripture, weekly chapels, intentional relationships and integrated biblical curriculum.
As students grow in knowledge of the Word, it is my hope that they’ll form a robust understanding of who God is and who He says they are. By anchoring their identities in Christ, they will be strengthened and equipped to be salt and light to a world in need.”

2022-23 BA Theme Verse
"Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others."
Philippians 2:3-4 (ESV)
One of our favorite aspects of Christian Life at BA is the Senior Theme Verse Retreat. Before each school year begins, the senior class gathers to spend time strengthening relationships and selecting the theme verse for the upcoming year. The chosen verse is memorized by all students, faculty and staff at BA. It is displayed on campus and serves as a guidepost for the entire school for the year.
Daily Scripture Study
Daily scripture reading begins in first block of each day
In the middle school each class reads from the Action Bible. Over the course of this year, students will read through the entire book - cover to cover. In the upper school a scripture verse, or block of text, is chosen, read and discussed daily. These scriptures coincide with what is presented and discussed in chapel.
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of God. Therefore, there is no practice more important than filling and saturating our minds with the truth of God’s Word. Our goal is to develop greater biblical literacy so that students can better understand who God says He is and who He calls them to be.
