COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

The Community Engagement department at Brentwood Academy focuses on the needs and experiences of the community at BA. We strive to support three core groups in our BA family: students, parents, and faculty.

Under the leadership of the Director of Community Engagement, Jason Mathews, and Christian Life Director, Freddie Scott, the department seeks to listen and respond well to needs arising within the community to move the institution and how we care for our community members forward.

The Community Engagement department also serves as a liaison for our Brentwood Academy Parents Association (BAPA) and our BA Dads group.

Throughout the school year, the Community Engagement department hosts multiple in-person events, dives into relevant content on the Brentwood Academy Podcast, and partners with other departments on campus to provide opportunities to connect, learn, and grow together.

Our priority is a positive experience for each member of the Brentwood Academy family.

DIRECTOR OF CHRISTIAN LIFE AND ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

FREDDIE SCOTT

As the Christian Life Director, Freddie Scott works with a team of faculty to support the spiritual development of students at Brentwood Academy. Students engage in weekly chapel, develop relationships through our advisory program, read scripture each morning, and take Bible classes every year at BA. BA focuses on integrating Biblical teaching and worldviews into existing college preparatory curriculum. Freddie’s unique skillset and training in conflict resolution, mental health aid, and leadership allow for meaningful collaboration by bringing departments together for the benefit of the students. His work blends well with the intent of the Community Engagement efforts.
