UPPER SCHOOL

ACADEMIC RESOURCES

We are dedicated to nurturing and challenging each of our students at Brentwood Academy. One way we do this is by providing specific and generalized resources to support our students in their area of need. The following lists explain these resources availble before, during, and after school to upper school students.

These resources are meant to augment formalized Student Academic Support (SAS) offered at BA not intended to take the place of those formal supports.

OPPORTUNITIES DURING SCHOOL:

WRITING LAB

The writing lab is open Monday through Thursday to any upper school student looking for writing help whose schedule allows them to visit Mrs. Tomichek’s classroom during A4/B4. The most common reasons for visiting the writing lab include seeking assistance to organize outlines, finding quote and evidentiary support, navigating MLA formatting, and editing. A goal of the English department is that students become critical writers. The writing lab helps students become more proficient writers during their tenure at BA.

Students do not need to sign up to visit the writing lab. However, students must first check in with their study hall teacher and receive permission to attend the writing lab. If you have any questions regarding the writing lab, email Brittainy_tomichek@brentwoodacadamy.com.
