APPLICATION FAQ

WHAT IS THE "ADMISSION PORTAL"?

The admission portal serves as the central hub for admission activity. Within the portal, you can:

· Access our online application.

· Manage admission process checklist items.

· Complete the education testing questionnaire & upload the necessary documentation.

· Request an academic and general recommendation.

· Upload required supporting application materials.

· Register for Admission Day.

· Schedule your Family Interview.

HOW DO I ACCESS MY ADMISSION PORTAL?

New families: The Brentwood Academy admission process begins with creating an online account. You will receive login information to access the admission portal via email shortly after creating your account.

SET UP YOUR PORTAL

Current families: You can navigate directly to the admission portal via their existing parent portal on Veracross to begin the online application for a new prospective student.

CAN I SAVE AND CONTINUE MY WORK?
The admission portal has no “save & return” feature, only a "submit" function. We highly recommend you type your answers to the questionnaires in a separate document that you can transfer into the application portal. This way, you do not lose your responses if you need to exit the application for any reason.
WhAT DOCUMENTS DO I NEED TO APPLY?

During the application process, we will request your student's most recent report card, official records, an academic recommendation, and a general recommendation. Other documents may be required.

HOW DO I REQUEST OFFICIAL RECORDS?

Request Official Records: As part of the admission process, we require a copy of official records from your student’s current school. You can access the official request for records form below.

RECORDS REQUEST FORM

You will need to complete the form and send it to the appropriate person at your student’s current school. Once completed, all records can be sent to admission@brentwoodacademy.com. You may also download a copy of the form by clicking the “Request for Records” icon on the Admission Portal Home Page.

Note: Please allow first-quarter grades to be completed at your current school before requesting official grades.

WHAT IF I CANNOT REQUEST AN ACADEMIC RECOMMENDATION FROM A TEACHER?

We require two recommendations, an academic and a general recommendation. These can be easily requested via digital forms in your admission portal. All you will need is the name and email address of your recommender. The academic recommendation should be completed by a current core subject teacher (math, English, science, or history), and the general recommendation should be someone who has experience with your student outside of school. Often this recommendation comes from a coach, pastor, neighbor, church member, etc.

Note: If your student attends a Williamson/Davidson County school, we are aware they do not allow teachers to submit academic recommendations. Please use the academic form to request a second general recommendation.

WHAT ENTRANCE TEST DO YOU REQUIRE?

The admission entrance test we require is the OLSAT (Otis-Lennon School Ability Test). This multiple-choice assessment measures processing ability and reasoning skills with several different types of verbal, non-verbal, figural, and quantitative reasoning questions. We offer this test at both Admission Days.

Note: We also accept the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE), but require an additional writing portion. If you are taking the ISEE in place of the OLSAT, please send your scores to Brentwood Academy and email admission@brentwoodacademy.com to set-up the writing portion.

Must parents be present at the family interview?

Yes. We want to get to know your family! Once the application and checklist items are complete, available interview dates and times will appear in the “Admission Events” section of your portal for you to schedule an interview time that works for your family. Brentwood Academy offers family interviews on select dates and times from November through February, generally lasting one hour. Both parents and applicant(s) are required to attend.
