BRENTWOOD ACADEMY NAMES VETERAN COACH MICHAEL BROWN AS HEAD COACH OF THE BASEBALL EAGLES

Brentwood Academy has named Michael Brown as head baseball coach of the varsity Eagles. Brown will be the 4th head coach for BA baseball in the school’s 54-year history.

Brown coached the Pope John Paul II baseball team for nine years (2007-2016), leading the Knights to seven consecutive state playoff opportunities and four visits to the final four. Brown was named Coach of the Year in 2014, 2015, and 2016 by the Tennessee Baseball Coach’s Association.

Most recently, Brown served as an assistant baseball coach at Brentwood Academy after coaching at Father Ryan for a couple of years.

Athletic Director and Dean of Community Engagement Jason Mathews shares, “I am excited about the years of experience Michael Brown brings to our baseball team. He has been successful in virtually every program that he has led. He is a strong man of faith, and I am excited about the future of Eagle baseball. “

“I am very thankful for the opportunity to lead the Brentwood Academy Baseball program. The athletic tradition at BA is unparalleled in our state. Our goal is to continue that tradition by putting an excellent product on the field,” shares Brown.

Brown began his coaching career in North Georgia, where he was named Regional Coach of the Year five times, Tri-State Coach of the Year three times, and Georgia State Coach of the Year in 1999.

Coach Brown and his wife Kristi have four children, Dalton (26), Jack (19), Christian (17), and Mary-Margaret (15)
