BRENTWOOD ACADEMY STUDENT NIHRI DASILVA '24 WINS EXHIBITION.

Nihri DaSilva '24 achieved first place in the Middle Tennessee Regional Student Art Exhibition for her piece (pictured on the right). After being on exhibition at Cheekwood last spring, her work proceeded on to be displayed at the Parthenon from December 8, 2022 through January 6, 2023, where she was awarded first place in Mixed Media from the Middle Tennessee Regional Student Art Exhibition. Dasilva said her piece was inspired by Chattanooga-based mixed media artist Hollie Chastain.

Nihri DaSilva was awarded a 2023 Scholastic Gold Key and named an American Vision Award Nominee for her work. Of all the artwork submitted annually to Scholastic Art & Writing Awards roughly 5% are awarded Gold Keys, the highest honor to be given at the regional level. After her award and nomination, her art traveled to New York where it was again judged with select pieces from other high school art students across the United States. She received a national Honorable Mention in that round of competition!

Congratulations Nihri!
