HIGHLIGHTS

Competed in 22 competitions this season and added 48 new trophies – including 3 World Championship, 5 Tennessee State, and 11 Signature Event awards

Brentwood Academy hosted the Tennessee State VEX Robotics Championship for the 8th consecutive year and two Iron Eagles teams (9364H and 9364A) were crowned Tennessee State Championship again for the 10th year in a row

Team 9364C hit new heights by becoming a 4x early season VEX Worlds qualifier by winning top awards at four Signature Events (Haunted – Excellence Award, WAVE at WPI – Tournament Champions, Northeast Wisconsin – Tournament Champions, Mecha Mayhem in Canada – Tournament Champions)

6 Teams qualified for the VEX Worlds Championship (9364A, 9364C, 9364D, 9364E, 9364H, and MS Team 9364W) with 3 teams bringing home Worlds Trophies (including 9364H achieving Division Champion)

At the end-of-the-year celebration, Senior Alex Nguyen won the Iron Eagle Award, highest award given within our program.

Graduated 15 Seniors from the program in 2024, heading off to Auburn, Biola, Carnegie Mellon, Georgia Tech, High Point University, Rose-Hulman, Samford, Purdue, Vanderbilt and Vermont University.
2024-2025 CHALLENGE
Next season will be a crowd pleaser with teams taking on the HIGH STAKES challenge which encompasses placing rings on various stakes and mobile goals on a 12ft x 12ft field to earn points. 2024 VEX WORLDS CHAMPIONSHIP
Six BA Robotics teams had to opportunity to compete and advance to the 2024 VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas, Texas. For the first time since 2015, Team 9364H (Nate Berman '24, Athena Lorenz '24, Kian Schoeman '24, Noah Wells '24, Caroline Lindemann '26) achieved a long-term program goal by winning Division Champion and making a return appearance in the VEX World Championship dome as one of the top ten alliances in the world.
Both Teams 9364A (Thank Mather '24, Tate Cho '24, Anna Grace Wooten '24, Henry Hill '26, Sam Malone '27) and 9364C (Parker Barton '24, Campbell Edgeworth '24, Isaac Shapiro '26, Sam Wells '26, James Owen '27) capped off their season as Worlds Division Finalists and Team 9364D (Emily Melton '24, Alex Nguyen '24, Jake Widmaier '25, Cale French '26, Dean Compton '27)also made it to the elimination round in their division.
SUMMER CAMP OFFERINGS
The Iron Eagles have several learning opportunities for students in grades 2nd-6th who are interested in robotics. Lead by Iron Eagle alums Hank Roberson ’20 and Brock Powell ’21, the BA Summer Camp lineup includes BattleBots, Building Simple and Advanced Robots, and Programming.
For current students who want to join the BA Robotics program next season, a selection of workshops are available to help students to build upon or learn new skills such as game strategy, the engineering design process, building, and programming. These workshops are available to incoming and rising Brentwood Academy high school students that want to join the Iron Eagles competition team.
